Useful information for antenna

1. Frequency range: You need to know the frequency range or system frequencies that your cellphone is operating at such as 800, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz or dual band so you can select the match antenna. Some of the antenna will cover all the frequencies. See examples below.

2. Antenna type and gain in dB. There are many types of antennas and gain that you have to choose to suite your applications. Typical car antennas are magnetic roof and glass mount antennas. For boat , you must use the marine type antenna. For office or home, you can use either Yagi or any omi directional antennas. Since both base stationa and the antenna are stationary, you can use the Yagi antenna to optimize your reception for office or home use. Typical gain is between 3 to 9 dB for most antennas.

3. Connector type We recommend using a female N-type connector for Marine and Yagi antennas. Most of the car antenna already come with the cable and connector. We recommend the male TNC type connector because our booster comes with the female TNC connector.

You can get more information on antenna from antenna manufacturers on the internet.
